Everything about Sulfur Springs totally explainedSulfur Springs is a popular tourist attraction found in Soufrière, Saint Lucia. In fact, the town of Soufrière got its name from the sulfur mining in the 1800s. Sulfur Springs was a formerly active dome volcano that had its last major eruption 40,000 years ago. It's last minor eruption occurred in 1780. The volcano's dome collapsed many years ago to form a 7 acre caldera. Although there hasn't been an eruption for over 200 years, sulfur still billows from the cracks in the caldera. Also, there are active boiling mud pits around the area. Sulfur Springs is currently the world's only drive-in volcano.
